Just Left of Center was jointly conceived by Jamie Chandler-Torns (Artisic Director) and Stephanie Swensen (Company Director). Inspired by founding dance members, JLOC blends theatrical, classical and contemporary dance styles into new and innovative choreographic works. As a company, our pieces exhibit interrelationships between people, objects, spirituality, musical tempos and space.

Just Left of Center's mission is to create works that embrace and enhance the emotions of our dancers and the ability to tell a story through movement. Our combination of classical, modern and athletic training helps us to explore movement differently from others. As an emerging company, our ambition is to envelop the audience so that they too, may take the journey along with our performers.

In addition to creating performance pieces, JLOC also hosts workshops for dance students. We strive to encourage, develop and nurture the future of dance through exposing dancers of all ages to a combination of new and classical dance techniques.
